3: Plymouth - Dartmouth

Stagecoach route 3 provides a scenic route between Plymouth and Dartmouth. It runs every hour Monday to Saturday daytimes, with a limited Sunday service. Click here to discover other bus routes across the South West.

Look up single and return fares on the Stagecoach website. From Plymouth to Dartmouth, an adult single is currently £8.80.

The cheapest day ticket that is valid the full length of route 3 is the Stagecoach South West Explorer at £9.10 if you pay on the bus or £8.30 on the Stagecoach app for an adult. It is valid on all Stagecoach buses throughout Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

For shorter journeys within Plymouth, the Plymouth Inner Dayrider, at £4.40 on the bus or £3.90 on the app, is valid on the 3 between the city centre and Laira Bridge
The Plymouth Outer Dayrider, at £4.50 on bus or £4.20 on the app, is valid as far as Elburton Hotel. It's valid on all Stagecoach buses within their Plymouth zones.

The Plymouth Plus Dayrider, at £6.60 on bus or £5.80 on the app, is valid between Plymouth and Ashford. It is valid on all Stagecoach buses within their Plymouth Plus zone, which even extends to Tavistock.

If you'll only be travelling within Plymouth (no further than Elburton on the 3) and also want to use the buses of other operators like Plymouth Citybus, then you need the multi-operator Plymouth Skipper ticket at £5.40 for a day. It is valid on all buses within the city of Plymouth, regardless of operator.

If you need to use other operators' services and will be travelling outside of Plymouth, but staying within Devon, then you need the multi-operator Devon Day Bus ticket at £9.60. It can be used on all buses within the county of Devon, including Plymouth, Exeter and Torbay, regardless of operator. It's valid throughout the route of the 3.

If arriving in Plymouth by train, you can use a Plusbus Plymouth ticket on route 3 as far as Elburton Hotel/School.

From Kingsbridge, connect with Tally Ho 164 to Salcombe or Totnes.

From Dartmouth, you can connect with Stagecoach 92 to Totnes. Alternatively, take one of the two ferries (1, 2) across the river to Kingswear, where you can continue your journey with Stagecoach 18 to Brixham or the 120 to Paignton.


Tally Ho 94 provides some additional journeys between Plymouth and Yealmpton.

Plymouth Citybus provide several additional routes between Plymouth City Centre and Plymstock.
